Each year, high school students' teams compete to build robots that can weight up to 54 kg., without the battery and the defences, where they achieve a task, which changes every year. The teams receives a standard set of pieces and are told the game details, at begginings of january.
At this point they are given six weeks to build the competition robot, which might function in an autonomus way as well as guided by the inalambric controls in order to realize the game task.
Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education's High School from Saltillo has gotten involved in previous competitions, having reached the final stage where only the best robots developed by over 51,000 students and 7,500 volunteers from all over the World, get a chance to participate.
Cada año, los equipos de estudiantes de preparatoria compiten para construir robots que pesan hasta 54 kg, donde completan una tarea, cambiando cada año. A los equipos se les entrega un conjunto estándar de piezas y obtienen los detalles del juego, a principios de enero.
A partir de ahí se tienen seis semanas para construir un robot competitivo, que pueda funcionar de forma autónoma, así como cuando es guiado teleoperadamente para realizar las tareas del juego.
La preparatoria del Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Saltillo ha participado con anterioridad en esta contienda llegando hasta la última etapa del concurso en donde llegan sólo los mejores robots desarrollados por más de 51 mil estudiantes y 7 mil 500 voluntarios en todo el mundo.
